A tiger stalks a deer under a tigress moon…
These life sized paper lanterns were displayed along a river walk at the Sanjicheon Lantern Festival. In order to create a more fantastical setting for them, I placed them off the seaside of Jungmun, amongst a rare geological structure called columnar jointing.
Columnar jointing is a geological structure created when hot lava bursts through water, which causes the lava to quickly cool into columnar rock formations, such as these on Jeju Island. Another well-known example, is the Giant’s Causeway in Ireland.
