Tatsuta-hime

Tatsuta-hime (Japanese autumn goddess)
Giclée with chiyogami and midare paper. 15.5” x 30”.
Inspired by Chinese fairy tale action movies, this image depicts the Japanese autumn goddess, Tatsuta-Hime, materializing from a flurry of maple leaves whisked in by a gust of wind. I have utilized a digital technique to smooth out the colors in this image, in an effort to recreate the look of traditional wood block printing. This woman is a fan dancer from the Japanese band, Batiholic.
